General Surgery
Dr. Hoang Thanh Lam is a senior surgeon at Cho Ray Hospital - one of the biggest hospitals in the country. He has spent more than 20 years of practicing in surgical treatment, both open and laparoscopic surgery for many complicated hepatobiliary - pancreatic and gastrointestinal diseases, as well as conducting both domestic and international scientific research. He also received extensive training in general surgery - particularly laparoscopic surgery in Russia, South Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, etc. Dr. Lam has attended a large number of national and international surgical conferences and is the author and co-author of many scientific research projects in the country.
Special interests:
- - Hepato-biliary-pancreatic cancer surgery.
- - Laparoscopy/laparoscopic surgery for treatment of: gallbladder stones, biliary tract stones, liver cysts, liver abscess, spleen cysts and tumor, pancreatic tumor.
- - Surgical emergencies for gastrointestinal diseases.
- - Surgery for goiter and thyroid cancer.
- - Surgery for gynecological diseases such as: uterine fibroids, uterine cancer, ovarian cysts.
- - Minimally invasive procedures such as biliary drainage, gallbladder drainage, drainage of biliary liver abscess, ultrasound- or CT-guided biopsy of abdominal lesions.

Qualifications:
- 2018: Specialization Degree - Level II in General Surgery, University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
- 2011: Specialization Degree - Level I in General Surgery, University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
- 2004: Doctor of Medicine degree (General Medicine), University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

- 2019: Participated in the intensive training course on hepatobiliary - pancreatic and goiter surgery as a secondary instructor at Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City.
- 2018: Participated in the laparoscopic surgery training course organized by the Vietnam Association of Endolaparoscopic Surgeons in Ho Chi Minh city.
- 2017: Participated in the laparoscopic surgery training course organized by the Vietnam Association of Endolaparoscopic Surgeons in Quang Ninh city.
- 2014: Participated in the training course on diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer organized by the National Coordination Center for Organ Transplant at Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City.
